The 4th of July holiday will be celebrated in many of the communities in the in Tampa and St. Petersburg area with parades, festivals, and spectacular firework displays. You can enjoy many of the celebrations without spending a lot of money when you take the family to the free events on the Fourth of July. Following are some of the free Independence Day events in Tampa Bay in 2017.

Tampa Red White & Blue Festival
July 4 @ 6 p.m.
Cotanchobee Fort Brook Park, 601 Old Water St., Channelside, Tampa, FL 33614

The Tampa Red White & Blue Festival is an Independence Day celebration which will offer free entertainment for the entire family. The day of entertainment will include All-American jazz and blues music, art exhibitions, stuffed animal rides for kids, and art workshops for adults. Southern food will be available for purchase. The annual fireworks show will take place at Channelside Bay Plaza. The Red White & Blue Festival will benefit an excellent cause … the GST Sun State Greyhouse Adoption. Attendees will be greeted by delightful puppies dressed in red, white and blue. General Admission will be free. VIP Access will be available for a $15 donation.

4th of July Parade and Fireworks in Temple Terrace

The Temple Terrace 4th of July Parade will step off at 10 a.m. from Whiteway and Gillette Area Boy Scouts will act as the grand marshals of the parade. The evening festivities will begin at 6 p.m. at 1st Fairway of Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club. There will be music and food vendors, so the evening should be a relaxing and enjoyable way to celebrate Independence Day. The fireworks display will begin at 9:15 p.m.

4th of July Picnic in Craig Park
July 4 @ 10 a.m.
Craig Park, 208 S. Spring Blvd, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689

The free picnic in Craig Park will be a celebration that will be fun for the entire family. Enjoy the patriotic music and hits by Rusty Trumpet. Kids will play games on the land and on the water.,  Hot dogs and drinks will be free while supplies last.

Clearwater Celebrates America
July 4 @ 4 p.m.
Coachman Park, 301 Drew St., Clearwater, FL 33755

Clearwater will present this family-oriented celebration with free music and activities. Food will be available for sale by local vendors. The Coachman Park Pops Orchestra featuring The Wilsons will entertain the attendees throughout the night. The fireworks show, which will be the largest in the Tampa Bay area, will begin between 9 and 9:30 p.m. Admission to the celebration will be free.

Safety Harbor 4th of July Parade
July 4 @ 10 a.m.
Safety Harbor, Main St., FL 34695

The American Legion Auxiliary will host the parade on Main Street to celebrate the patriotic holiday. Later in the day, there will be a July 4 celebration at Safety Harbor Marina, which will begin at 5 p.m.  Enjoy the live entertainment and children’s activities while waiting for the fireworks display in Tampa Bay, which will begin at 9 p.m.

Patriotic Evening in Inverness

This annual event will feature live music by Come Back Alice. Food trucks will offer food for purchase. The fireworks display, which will begin at about 9 p.m., will be visible from the two lakeside locations.
