G2 Esports has officially confirmed the rumors in what has resulted as one of the biggest and most shocking roster changes of the League of Legends off-season.

Rasmus “Caps” Winther has officially joined the team as a mid laner after showcasing his mechanical prowess in the most recent season, where he helped his former team Fnatic make it all the way to the League of Legends World Championship finals.

As a result of Caps taking over the team’s mid lane position, G2 Esports has moved its former mid laner Luka “Perkz” Perković to the role of AD Carry. The former mid laner will be joined in the bot lane by Mihael "Mikyx" Mehle, the team’s newest support.

Both Martin "Wunder" Hansen and Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski will return as the team's top laner and jungler, respectively, for the upcoming season.

With its official announcement, G2 Esports becomes one of the first European teams to confirm its player roster alongside Misfits Gaming, who revealed its lineup earlier in the week. The two teams will enter into the recently rebranded League of Legends European Championship, which begins Jan. 18, alongside eight others for the start of a new era of the European region.
