When George Clinton took the stage at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles over Memorial Day weekend, many thought it could be the Prime Minister of Funk’s last show in L.A. Clinton recently announced that he is retiring in 2019. But the City of Angels will get a reprieve as George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic have announced a show at The Novo in Los Angeles on Aug. 31. With just a few months left in 2018 after Clinton’s Novo appearance, this could very well be Clinton’s last show in L.A. You can find tickets on AXS by following this link.
Dr. Funkenstein is fresh on the heels of releasing his first album of new music with Parliament in 40 years, Medicaid Fraud Dogg. You can listen to the album in its entirety here. Although Parliament Funkadelic’s 76-year-old high priest may be hanging up his scepter, the band will continue to tour. “It’s never really been about me,” Clinton said in a statement. “It’s always been about the music and the band.”
