The Georgia Swarm of the National Lacrosse League signed defenseman Matt Dunn on Friday. The contract was a two-year agreement.

Dunn played the last three seasons in Major League Lacrosse with the Rochester Rattlers and Dallas Rattlers. In 37 regular season games, Dunn had seven goals for seven points, five penalty minutes, collected 54 ground balls (a term for loose balls in the NLL), 17 turnovers, caused 21 turnovers, 23 shots and 14 shots on goal. In the MLL playoffs, Dunn played three games, half a penalty minute, collected two ground balls, caused three turnovers, five shots and three shots on goal.

Unlike the National Lacrosse League, players can score a goal worth two points in Major League Lacrosse if their feet are beyond the two-point arc. Dunn achieved that feat in a 17-16 win over the Ohio Machine on June 27, 2018. It was also the only time this past season that Dunn notched two goals in a game as he also scored an unassisted marker 17 seconds prior to scoring his two-point goal. Dunn's goals both came in the first quarter and broke a 3-3 tie.

Dunn is 6'3" and 215 pounds. He attended the University of Maryland  He was with the Terrapins from 2013-2016.
