Country singer and songwriter Kacey Musgraves traveled from East Texas in order to perform at Stagecoach Music Festival. After three self-released three albums and a stint as a contestant to find the next Nashville star, she signed with Mercury Records in 2012.
Musgraves' first single was “Merry Go 'Round” and released the same year she signed. The song was included on her debut album with Mercury, Same Trailer Different Park, which was released in March 2013. Those releases were well regarded in the music industry. She won a Grammy for both of them in 2014 - Best Country Song and Best Country Album. She also won an ACM Award for Album of the Year in 2014 and we're not even counting nominations for other awards. A second single, "Follow Your Arrow," won Song of the Year in 2014 for CMA Awards.
For this year, Musgraves is preparing to release another album. On March 16, 2015, she released her new single, “Biscuits.” The song is like a sequel to “Follow Your Arrow” and written by all the same people, Kacey Musgraves, Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally. You can see the video on this page. Musgraves can sing more than country such as on "Guess You Had to Be There" from Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson's upcoming album, No Pier Pressure where she is featured vocalist singing the verses to Wilson singing the chorus. But there's more to being the great country star she appears to be heading towards than singing great songs. To demonstrate the type of individual she is, she attended the ACM Awards with her grandfather and in a twitter post and picture was titled as “The award I treasure most; my Grandpa”. Those few words says a lot.
Kacey Musgraces is scheduled to perform at Stagecoach on Friday, April 24 at 6:10 pm - 7:00 pm on the Mane stage.
