Go Beyond the Band with Julien Baker at The Sinclair

Julien Baker will appear at The Sinclair just outside of Boston, Mass. on May 29 as part of her weekend stay for Boston Calling. The young singer and guitarist, who has earned an impressively growing fanbase over the last few years thanks to her painfully honest and melancholy style of songwriting, will be joined for the “Beyond The Band” event by her manager, booking agent and publicist, for an intimate evening of engagement between herself, her team and fans in attendance.

According to the events page on Facebook, “Beyond the Band” is being co-produced by the three-day festival along with Berklee College of Music, with one of its staff leading the moderation between Baker, her team and those in attendance. The goal for the series is to “provide opportunities for artists and their teams to engage with fans and fellow performing artists by sharing their true stories about what it takes, personally and professionally, to build a successful career in music.” In addition to providing fans with an intimate setting for learning more about Baker’s career journey, many of the Berklee students in the audience will get a chance to hear more about the various paths and obstacles their perspective field by industry colleagues.

The event will be broken down into three parts, starting with a a discussion between Baker and her team. A Q&A session between the audience and the team will then follow, and eventually Baker will take up her guitar and do what she does best - fill the entire audience with heart-wrenching, tear-jerking music.

The 22-year-old Tennessee native released her highly anticipated sophomore album in 2017 with Turn Out The Lights. She's also scheduled to open up for Courtney Barnett at the Prospect Park Bandshell in Brooklyn, NY later this year on July 25
