Good Charlotte's new album may be a few months away, but the group is already making plans to hit the road in support of its upcoming release. On Monday, July 9, the Maryland-founded band unveiled a lengthy North American tour that will find them touring the continent during the months of October and November. Titled the Generation RX North American tour, the trek will begin on Oct. 12 at the Open Air ACMX in Mexico City.
After being on the road for about a month and a half, the trek will conclude on Nov. 24 at The Pearl at The Palms in Las Vegas. The upcoming excursion will find the band performing at venues in several large markets including New York, Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago, Montreal, Toronto, Philadelphia, and more. While the fall time tour dates have been confirmed, Good Charlotte's supporting act(s) are still TBA.
VIP tickets for the upcoming tour are currently available on the band's website. For fans who would like to get their hands on tickets early, all they need to do is register for the GC FAM (the band's fan club). Those tickets will go on sale beginning this Tuesday, July 10. Following all the pre-sales, general admission tickets will go on sale this Friday, July 13.
The forthcoming tour will be in support of Good Charlotte's seventh studio album, Generation RX.
According to a previously released press statement, this record finds the band returning to their roots while also addressing social and health issues affecting not only the youth but everyone. While the topic seems dark, the band also reveals that the message they are trying to send is that things will get better.
“At the beginning of the year, we were reflecting a lot. We just played a memorial service in honor of Lil Peep. We were thinking of that. Our generation was the first to have so many ways to deal with pain,” Joel and Benji Madden wrote in a statement back in May.
“Throughout this century, we’ve seen the whole opioid crisis get worse. We wondered if we were really doing our part. We wanted to get back out there on the battlefield and spread insight, share experience, and give anything we could to improve lives.
The message is you can get through the pain, survive it, and have the life you want. We made the record on our own terms and our own time. In that respect, we channeled the soul of our first two albums. This is the album we’ve been waiting 15 years to create.”
Generation RX is due out Sept. 14 through the band’s newly minted partnership with BMG and their record label imprint, MDDN. The new record is the follow-up to the band's first post-hiatus album, 2016's Youth Authority.
