As their name implies, Greensky Bluegrass is a clever and subversive bluegrass outfit that's eager to push the boundaries of acoustic music. That's made them catnip to music fans in Colorado and today, the band announced a two-night stand at Red Rocks in September.
Greensky Bluegrass will be joined by The California Honeydrops on Saturday, Sept. 22 and Turkuaz the following night, Sunday, Sept. 23. If that's not enough, the band will also perform a special show at the Ogden Theatre in Denver on Friday, Sept. 21 as part of an offer available to those who buy three-day passes.
After ringing in 2018 with a New Year's Eve show in Chicago, Greensky Bluegrass is set for another big year. The Michigan-based five-piece will kick off their month-long winter tour with three sold out shows at the Ogden Theatre beginning on Jan. 11. The group has also lined up a few summer festival appearances, including stops at Summer Camp in Chillicothe, IL (May 25-27) and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival (June 21-23).
Still, the band's Red Rocks shows should be the crown jewel of their 2018 touring schedule (the band just updated their Facebook profile with last year's Red Rocks show as their cover photo).
