Detroit-area rock band Greta Van Fleet has been steadily building a following with 1970s-inspired music, and the band has now added more dates to its 2018 world tour. Many of the band's headlining shows already sold out. A third London show at O2 Kentish Town Forum on Nov. 12 has been added to follow two sold-out shows at the venue, while new dates in New York City on Nov. 27, Chicago on Dec. 12 and Detroit on Dec. 27 are now on the itinerary. Tickets for the newly added shows go on sale on Sept. 14.
Greta Van Fleet's founding members—lead singer Josh Kiszka, guitarist Jake Kiszka, bassist Sam Kiszka (who are all brothers)—formed the band in Frankenmuth, Michigan, in 2012, with drummer Danny Wagner joining in 2013. Since then, the band has signed with Lava/Republic Records, which released two Greta Van Fleet EPs in 2017: Black Smoke Rising and From the Fires. The latter EP has been certified gold in Canada. It was recently announced that Greta Van Fleet's debut album, Anthem of the Peaceful Army, is set for release on Oct. 19. The album's first single, "When the Curtain Falls," has been a hit at rock radio, just like Black Smoke Rising tracks "Highway Tune" and "Safari Song."
The year 2018 has included some high-profile gigs for Greta Van Fleet, including performing at Elton John's annual Oscar party (where host John joined the band on stage for his hit "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting" and Greta Van Fleet's "You're the One") and Greta Van Fleet's TV debut performance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." The band has also been doing several festivals this year, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Summerfest, Download, Pinkpop, Northside, iHeartRadio, Cal Jam and Austin City Limits.
