Wolfmother will join Guns N' Roses for select shows in New Zealand and Australia in 2017.

Gnr/Wolfmother

For the first run of shows as part of their Not In This Lifetime tour in 2016, Gun N’ Roses brought along some of music’s best to join the historic reunion tour, including Alice In Chains, Lenny Kravitz, Chris Stapleton, Skrillex, Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown, and Zakk Wylde.

So with Guns finally confirming additional tour dates going into 2017, fans have already begun to wonder who Axl, Slash, and company would be bringing on the road with them in the coming year. With Japanese metal/pop phenom Babymetal set to join GnR for four out of their five scheduled shows in Japan, now it looks like Wolfmother will be opening up for GnR for two shows in New Zealand scheduled for early February. Announced on Sunday, The short, two-date run across New Zealand comes in addition to the previous announcement a few weeks ago that the Australian rock group will also be joining the band on four of their six dates in their home country as well.

Most rock fans will recognize Wolfmother from songs off their 2006 self-titled debut album with hard rock radio friendly hits like “Joker And The Thief,” and “Woman.” Most non-fans will at least hopefully recognize singer Andrew Stockdale’s signature high-pitched vocals, which also appeared on Slash’s 2010 solo album, singing on “By The Sword,” which can be heard in the performance video below.

The Grammy award winning band are coming off a 2016 which saw them release their fourth LP, Victorious, which was also accompanied by an international tour. The Aussie rockers are known for their incredible energy, on top of having a solid catalog of material to power through a rock concert. Not a bad way to spend a few nights down under.
