GWAR and Hatebreed announce Gore, Core, Metal and More co-headlining fall tour

This coming fall just got a lot louder, and a lot more intense. Two of America’s brashest and unapologetic metal bands are hitting the road together this summer as GWAR and Hatebreed will embark on a 17-date co-headlining tour starting in early October. As Consequence of Sound reports, the two bands will unleash their hard rock fury on fans across the country on their Gore, Core, Metal and More tour, which begins on Oct. 7 in Buffalo, New York and carries on until Oct. 28 with a show in Peoria, Illinois. The two bands will be joined throughout the tour with support from Miss May I, Ringworm and American Sharks.

The tour is part of GWAR’s 2018 summer/fall campaign, which currently has them playing around the Midwest and North Carolina throughout the rest of July. They’re also scheduled to play venues along the east coast in September before linking up with Hatebreed, including a show at Norfolk, Virginia’s The NorVa on Sept. 13.

“This is the tour you can’t afford to miss,” GWAR’s guitarist Pustulus Maximus said about the upcoming shows with Hatebreed in a statement. “We are bringing you the heaviest in hardcore and the most brutal of gore! We are thrilled to be slaying the nation alongside our brothers in Hatebreed!”

GWAR recently released their 14th studio album last fall with The Blood of Gods. Prior to its release in mid-October, AXS caught up with Pustulus Maximus to talk about the album.

“We could’ve easily gotten jobs at Burger King and done way better for ourselves,” he said when asked about moving forward with the band following the death of  Dave Brockie (Oderus Urungus) in 2014. “But we chose the path of sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll—for your enjoyment, quite frankly. It’s offensive when people think we shouldn’t do it anymore.”
