Kids in the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area will have fun getting dressed in colorful costumes and going to the family-friendly Halloween events being held in 2017. Children will get a chance to stretch their imaginations and play with friends and family at the special events in the area.

3rd Annual Star Wars Day
Oct. 28 @ 10 a.m.
Frontiers of Flight Museum, Dallas Love Field Airport: 6911 Lemmon Ave., Dallas, TX 75209

Star Wars Day will be a Halloween Sci-Fi Extravaganza with costumed characters from a galaxy far, far away. Join the fun by dressing as a favorite character and participate in the Annual Halloween Red Carpet Costume Contest. Admission will be $10/adults, $8/seniors, $7/youth. All kids in costume will be admitted free.

Family Fun Weekend at the Arboretum

Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, 8525 Garland Rd., Dallas, TX 75218

There will be trick-or-treating throughout the garden, a petting zoo, face painting, and a magician in Pecan Grove. Kids will be encouraged to bring their own trick-or-treat bag. This event will be free with paid admission.

Halloween at the Heard

Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary, McKinney, TX 75069

This family-friendly Halloween event will feature a safe environment to enjoy trick-or-treating along the eerie Dinosaurs Live! Life -Size Animatronic Dinosaurs. Children 12 and under will be able to participate in the costume contest on the Amphitheater Stage. There will be a family-friendly movie in the outdoor amphitheater. Concessions will be available, so bring extra cash to purchase refreshments.  Purchase tickets in advance. Ticket prices are $15/adults, $10/children (3-12), Children 2 and under free.

Boo at the Zoo

The Halloween event will include treat stations and carnival games. Halloween-themed entertainment and activities will be located throughout the zoo. Boo at the Zoo will be included with regular admission.

Fun on the Farm: Trick or Treat

The Heritage Farmstead Museum, 1900 West 15th St., Plano, TX 75075

Dress in costume for Trick or Treat on the Farmstead, an event especially for children ages 1-9. The activities will include trick-or-treating, tractor rides chicken feeding, a craft, and more. Admission for children 1+ will be $7 in advance, or $8 on the day of the event. $3 general admission for adults.

Trick or Treat the Square
Oct. 29 @ 1 p.m.
Frisco Square, 8874 Coleman Blvd., Frisco, TX 75034

The 7th Annual Trick or Treat the Square will be presented by Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. This family and pet-friendly event will be especially for children ages 12 and under. Dress in Halloween costumes and trick or treat at the shops, restaurants, and businesses at Frisco Square. There will be a petting zoo, balloon artists, face painters, horse-drawn wagon rides, a pooch parade/costume contest and dog adoption sponsored by Mazie’s Mission, and more.

Treat Street at Stockyards Station

Stockyards Station Mall, 140 East Exchange Ave., Ft. Worth, TX

The Halloween event will include costume contests, pumpkin decorating, hayrides, games, and more. Treat Street will be free and open to the public. Candy will only be distributed to children 12 and under and dressed in Halloween costumes.

Street N’ Treat

Market Square, 120 W. Main St., Grand Prairie, TX 75050

The family-friendly Halloween event at Market Square will be free. Dress in costume and bring a large bucket for trick-or-treating. There will also be free games, kid’s crafts, face painting, and games at this fun event.

Scare on the Square
Oct. 31 @ 4 p.m.
Historic Downtown McKinney, TX 75069

The annual Scare on the Square will be a free event that will attract hundreds of trick-or-treaters to enjoy hayrides and safe family-fun. Downtown McKinney will be closed off for trick-or-treaters to cross the street and go shop-to-shop. There will be a costume contest but admissions will be limited to the first 20 entries in each category, so plan to arrive early to participate.
