Children will enjoy dressing in creative Halloween costume and attending some of the festivities in Philadelphia, PA in 2017. Be sure to have costumes ready so the little ones and whole family are ready to attend some of the not-so-spooky family-friendly happenings in Philadelphia this year.

Morris Arboretum’s Annual Fall Festival
Oct. 7-8 @ 10 a.m.
Morris Arboretum, 100 E. Northwestern Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19118

The lively family festival will be fun for the family, with activities geared for kids and adults, including scarecrow making, pumpkin painting, and apple tasting. The Elmwood Park Zoo will be on site with live animals and the staff will give a talk, which will be included with regular admission. Ticket prices are $17/adult, $9/youth (3-17), and free for children under 3.

Scarecrow Walk at Morris Arboretum

Take the family for a fall walk through the display of fall decor and attractions. There will be more than just scarecrows! Visitors will also be given the chance to vote for their favorite scarecrow to help pick the top five prize winners. Admission prices are $17/adult, $9/youth (3-17), free for children 3 and under.

Chestnut Hill Harry Potter Festival
Oct. 20-21

This very special Harry Potter Festival will be free to attend for all those looking for a magical time. There will, however, be select activities which will be pay-as-you-go. Free activities will include stage performances, Dumbledore’s Greeting, S.P.E.W.Rally, Potter Quizzo, Quidditch Tournament Updates, Wizard Dance Party, The Science of Wizarding demonstrations, Sorting Hat demonstrations, ice sculpting demonstrations, Muggles Read-a-Thon, and more.

Boo at the Zoo

Dress in costume for a trick-or-treat safari through the zoo’s not-so-scary Extinction Graveyard. Festive refreshments will be available for purchase. This event will be included with regular zoo admission which is $23/adults, $19/children (2-11), free for children under 2.

South Street PumpkinFest

Kids will enjoy the afternoon of free activities for Halloween during the South Street PumpkinFest. Attendees are encouraged to dress in costume for the costume contest and enjoy trick-or-treating, games, music, pumpkin decorating, and more. Fox Rothschild Trick-or-Treat Trail

This free Halloween event is recommended for children 10 and under. Kids will be able to create a trick-or-treat bag and follow the trail map to discover spooky treats through the park. As an added option, you can hop onboard the Lightning Bolt Express Train and take a fall rice around the historic square ($5 for adults and $4 for children).

Portside’s Family Halloween Extravaganza

This family-friendly festival will offer activities for kids and adults. Portside’s teachers will lead children in pumpkin painting, a dance party, games, and light refreshments. Children must be 4-17 years old to attend and must attend with an adult. Tickets prices will be $20/single, $30/couple, $5/kids.
