It is time to get the Halloween costumes ready for the many family-friendly events for kids in St.Louis in 2017. Check out the non-spooky fun, trick-or-treating, storytelling, and more for children in St. Louis this year.

Booterfly House
Oct. 1-31 @ 10 a.m. (closed Mondays)
Butterfly House, Faust Park, 15193 Olive Blvd., Chesterfield, MO 63017

Visit the Butterfly House to see some slightly scary bugs and botanicals. Story Time with Little Miss Muffet will be at 11 a.m. daily. The Booterfly House will be included with admission ($5-$8).

Boo at the Zoo Nights
Oct. 17-30 @ 5:30 p.m.
Saint Louis Zoo, Government Dr., St. Louis, MO 63110

Boo at the Zoo will be a fun-filled non-scary event for children.  Children will be encouraged to dress in Halloween costume costumes. Kids 12 and under will receive a treat bag upon exiting the zoo. Admission will be $6-$7. Children 2-12 in costume will receive a $1 discount with on-site ticket purchase.

Haunted Hayloft at Purina Farms
Oct. 20-22 & Oct. 27-29 @ 4:30 p.m.
Purina Farms Visitor Center, 200 Checkerboard Loop, Gray Summit, MO 63039

This will be a not-so-scary event with entertainment for kids, including trick-or-treating, magic shows, face painting, storytelling, and more. There will be canine performances and adoptable dogs at the show. Kids in age groups 5 and under and ages 6-12 will be able to be in the costume contest for a chance to win a prize. Admission will free Call 314-982-3232 for reservations. There will be a $5 parking fee per car.

St. Vincent Haunted Shelter Extravaganza
Oct. 22 @ 2 p.m.
St. Vincent Community Center — 7335 St. Charles Rock Rd., St. Louis, MO 63133

This will be a free event for kids ages 5 and up. The party will include candy, s’mores, hot chocolate and other treats. Dress in costumes because there will be prizes and fun activities. Admission will be free.

Science Spooktacular
Oct. 26 @ 5 p.m.
Saint Louis Science Center, 5050 Oakland Ave., St. Louis, MO 63110

This will be a family-friendly Halloween celebration with spell-binding science and fun with learning. Activities will include Spooky Storytime, Halloween themed showed in the OMNIMAX Theater, hands-on activities and more. Admission will be $5 per person.

Kirkwood Halloween Walk
Oct. 26 @ 5 p.m.
Downtown Kirkwood — 130 E Jefferson Ave., Kirkwood, MO 63122

Kids will enjoy dressing in costumes and trick-or-treating at participating merchants in Downtown Kirkwood. This will be a free event.

Halloween Storytelling
Oct. 28 @ 10 a.m.
The Pavilion at Lemay, 305 Gregg Rd., St. Louis, MO 63125

This will be a kid-friendly event with Halloween storytelling and crafts. Kids will be welcome to wear costumes to add to the fun. This will be a free event. Call 314-615-8877 to register.

Central West End Halloween Party
Oct. 28 @ 11 a.m.
Maryland & Euclid Ave., St. Louis, MO 63108

The Halloween street party will feature fun for the whole family. Kid-friendly daytime events will include a kids’ costume parade and party, featuring Cinderella and her carriage, clowns, Shriners, fact painters and more. Trick-or-treating at businesses in the neighborhood will begin at noon. The dog costume parade and part will begin at 1 p.m. There will also be kid-friendly live entertainment and music. At 6 p.m., the event will turn into an adult only party.

Halloween Boo-nanza
Oct. 31 @ 6 p.m.
North County Recreation Complex, 2577 Redman Rd., St. Louis, MO 63136

This will be a family-fun event featuring hayrides, a bonfire, and a marshmallow roast. Kids will have fun with a costume contest, crafts, and Haunted Caverns. Call 314-615-8829 for reservations.  

Halloween Hoopla at Frontier Park

Halloween Hoopla will be a free family-friendly event featuring family activities. You can drop by while trick-or-treating along Main St.  This will be a free event.
