A trove of Prince memorabilia is headed to auction this winter and spring. As Rolling Stone reported, two separate auction houses will offer a wide variety of items both owned by the Purple One and gifts he gave to friends.

The frist auction--helmed by Boston’s RR auction House--will take place Feb 8 through the 15. Some of the items up for sale include a purple piano, a pair of custom made boots, a microphone Prince used on the 1985 “Purple Rain” tour and an original “Black Album.”

The shoes alone are expected to fetch $50,000 but perhaps most interesting are handwritten lyrics, on Prince watermarked paper, of the 1985 song “I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man” that feature an alternate chorus: "Baby, stop wasting your time/ I know what's on your mind/ I won't be satisfied with a one-night stand/ and I could never take the place of your man/ but I'll try, but I'll sure as hell try." The lyrics are expected to go for $10,000.

In the spring, Julien’s Auctions will offer more Prince items including gifts he gave to former girlfriends. “Music Icons: Property From the Life and Career of Prince” will take place May 18 in New York.

Some of the items up for sale at Julien’s are a “White Cloud” Schecter guitar; various outfits worn by Prince, including one for the movie Under the Cherry Moon; handwritten lyrics to an unreleased song called “Miss Understood” and tributes written by Mick Jagger, Anthony Kiedis, Patti Labelle and Joe Cocker.

Prince was back in the news recently as Justin Timberlake paid tribute to the Purple One for his performance at Super Bowll LLII. You can check out our coverage here.

Prince will also make a posthumous return in Prince: Live on the Big Screen when it comes to his hometown of Minneapolis at the Target Center. Click here to find tickets on AXS.
