Harry Styles debuts two new songs at world tour launch

Boy band heartthrob-turned solo headliner Harry Styles kicked off his 2018 world tour in Switzerland on Sunday night. The European concert was the first on a five month itinerary of shows scheduled to take the young pop artist across the globe this year. Fittingly for the tour’s opening night, Styles debuted a few new songs that didn’t make it onto his debut solo album when it arrived in January of last year.

As Billboard reports, Styles introduced two new tracks as part of his 17-song performance on Sunday at the St. Jakobshalle Arena. The first came eight songs into the show, and has been given the working title “Medicine.” The harder new track can be heard in the video posted to Twitter below, and is certainly one of the more edgier rock songs found in Styles’ pop-friendly arsenal. The second new tune unveiled on Sunday comes in the form of a more acoustic-driven pop track, and was given the title “Anna” or “Oh Anna,” depending on which fan you ask. A video of Styles performing the new song while wearing an awfully stylish sparkling black suit can be watched in full above.

The two new songs were just a few of presumably many fun moments for Harry Styles fans in attendance on Sunday. The young performer pulled out a mix of songs from different points in his career on tour night one, including three One Direction tunes and his now famous cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain” during the encore.

Styles’ world tour is scheduled to keep in playing across Europe and his native Great Britain until mid-April, before he heads to Australia, east Asia and the South/Central Americas throughout the spring months. He’s scheduled to start the North American leg of his global trek with a concert at Dallas’ American Airlines Center on June 5. Tickets for select shows on his North American summer run are on sale now, and can be purchased by clicking here.
