Chris Young issues "Sober Saturday Night" to country radio today (May 24), the third release from 2015's I'm Comin' Over studio album. The song, which Young co-wrote with Brad and Brett Warren, features a heavy guitar line and a healthy dose of Vince Gill background vocals. The arrangement is rather simple, and ultimately, that gives Young a chance to hone in on his vocal impact and resounding emotion.
"I'm not hungover it's true, but I'm still not over you," he sings over an enveloping, softly-thumping drum and sweeping electric guitar. "All messed up. All strung out. I was sitting at home breaking down. Not out there getting high underneath some neon lights. Ain't no whiskey strong enough to make things right. I'm just getting over another sober Saturday night."
"Sober Saturday Night" follows a 1-2 punch of No. 1 hits, the title cut (which commanded a three-week reign) and the Cassadee Pope-assisted "Think of You." Take a listen to the song below, and grab the album now on iTunes.
Young continues his 2016 I'm Comin' Over World Tour this Thursday (May 27) with a show at Circle K and Kangaroo Speed Street in Charlotte, NC. Special guests include Dan + Shay, Dustin Lynch and Pope. Check out a full list of tour dates and grab tickets right here.
