San Diego may not seem like a city that would be a music mecca for the holidays, but the city is full of surprises.

San Diego and it’s surroundings contain many music venues that will thrill and entertain just in time for Christmas, and if listening to great music is more your speed than opening presents, then check out the best concerts that will hit the Portland area this holiday season.

Jingle Jam
Dec. 23 @  7 pm
Valley View Casino Center -- 3500 Sports Arena Blvd., San Diego, CA 92110
(619) 224-4171

The Valley View Casino Center has been the premier arena for big-name concerts for decades, and two days before Christmas, this storied concert venue will be the most “lit” place in town. The Jingle Jam will certainly deck the halls with hip-hop supergroup Migos, SOBxRBE, and G-Eazy lighting up the stage for holiday revelers.

91X WREX the Halls
Dec. 9 @ 6 pm
Valley View Casino Center -- 3500 Sports Arena Blvd., San Diego, CA 92110
(619) 224-4171

Before you deck the halls at Jingle Jam, some of the biggest names in rock will wreck the halls at the Valley View Casino Center. Local rock station 91X will put on WREX the Halls, featuring Dreamcar, The War on Drugs, and Arkells. This is a show San Diego rock fans have been waiting for, and you should get your tickets before the show is sold out.

To wrap up the Christmas concert calendar, the venerable concert arena will host OMFG! NYE 2018, which will be the place to be to ring in 2018 for music fans. Make sure you get your tickets, and afterward, toast the New Year with wine at one of San Diego’s revered restaurants.

Dec. 27 @ 7 pm
Valley View Casino Center -- 3500 Sports Arena Blvd., San Diego, CA 92110

You may not think of San Diego as a hockey town, but if you’re more of a sports fan than a music fan, make your way to the Valley View Casino Center on Dec. 27. Here, the San Diego Gulls will take on the Tucson Roadrunners in a fast-paced game that will bring joy to the post-Christmas crowd.
