They've been blowing up the music charts, wowing audiences at the Grammys as both performers and award winners, and their songs have been heard in too many television shows, films and video games, that it's starting to look like 2014 is the year of Imagine Dragons. It's hard not to hear “Radioactive”, their breakout single, wherever you go these days.
Now Imagine Dragons, alt rock's current favorite band, is out with a brand new release, this time a music video for their track, “I Bet My Life”. The track was officially released on October 27 of this year. It's already been featured in several TV advertisements and is currently available as a digital download through Interscope Records.
The music video for “I Bet My Life” hit Imagine Dragons' VEVO page on December 12. It was filmed at the Roosevelt Dam in Arizona and features actor Dane DeHaan, best known for his work in the film “Amazing Spider-Man 2” and the HBO TV series “In Treatment”.
In the video, directed by Canadian filmmaker Jodeb, shows striking visuals of the Roosevelt Dam as a backdrop for a thrilling and emotional human drama. The finished product is cinematic in scope and in aesthetic, and DeHaan is on point from scene to scene.
“I Bet My Life” is the first track from Imagine Dragons' upcoming sophomore album, which is scheduled to be released some time in 2015. Frontman Dan Reynolds has described the song as being about his “sometimes strained relationship” with his own parents, a conflict that is reflected in the music video.
