Multi-platinum and Grammy-award winning band, Imagine Dragons, wants to know if you’re the next up-and-coming music video editing visionary?
To help celebrate the 25th anniversary of Adobe’s Premiere Pro software the band, which recently released a video for their new hit single, “Believer,” is offering fans a once in a lifetime opportunity with their “Make The Cut Contest With Imagine Dragons.”
In an industry first, Imagine Dragons will give fans full access to their creative license so that they can edit their own version of the music video using Adobe’s Premiere Pro CC. Contest entrants will be given uncut footage from a leading music video director to cut and craft as they see fit to create their own music video, with the grand prize winner receiving $25,000.
Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of judges that include members of the band as well as Academy Award winner Angus Wall – whose resume includes films like "Fight Club" and Vinnie Hobbs, a music video editor who works with Kendrick Lamar and Kanye West. Bonus prizes of $1,000 and a year-long Creative Cloud subscription will also be awarded in four categories: Fan Favorite, Most Unexpected, Best Young Creator and Best Short Form. Another special bonus prize of $2,500 along with a year’s subscription to Creative Cloud and twenty-five Adobe Stock credits will go to the cut with the best use of supplied Adobe Stock clips.
The Imagine Dragons video for "Believer" was directed by Matt Eastin and features actor Dolph Lundgren (Rocky IV, The Expendables), depicting a man facing his inner-self. Vocalist Dan Reynolds says the song is about overcoming emotional and physical pain to arrive at a place of peace and self-confidence.
In addition to Reynolds, Imagine Dragons also includes Wayne Sermon (guitar), Daniel Platzman (drums) and Ben McKee (bass).
So if you think you have what it takes to “Make the Cut” here’s your chance to prove it. If you’re not a Creative Cloud member, you can download a free trial of Premiere Pro CC to begin.
