L2M are adding their name to the list of girl groups in pop music. The high-energy fivesome - consisting of Mariangli, McKenzie, Lexi, Tati and Jenna - recently released their first single of the year, "Living For The Rhythm." It's their fourth single overall and worthy of consideration for any music fan's pop playlist this summer. AXS conducted an email interview with the members of L2M so that audiences can get to know them and learn about the artists that made them fall in love with music.

AXS: How did each of you come to choose music as a career path?
Mariangli: I started singing when I was two years old. Music will always and forever be an activity I choose to be a part of. And to me, there are many different aspects to music. You have the pop/dance music that L2M releases and also musical theatre, which is another major part of my life. Being able to convey different emotions and feelings through the performing arts is what made it clear that music was the right path to take in my life.
McKenzie: Music has always been a huge part of my life since I was a little girl! I have always loved performing and seeing how happy it makes people to hear me sing. I love that through music I can portray different emotions and really express myself. I just love singing, and I want to do it for the rest of my life.
Lexi: I have always loved music and performing ever since I was very little and it is something that has always been a part of who I am. I can't imagine my life without it.
Tati: Dance came first for me, and music and rapping followed.
Jenna: I have always loved music. My parents joke that I danced before I crawled. I would walk around constantly singing when I was really little. My first performance was in a third grade talent show. I told my mom I wanted to be in it two weeks before the show, to which she responded, "What's your talent?” Needless to say, I did my best to play the piano and sing Adele's "Rolling in the Deep." Before that, I hadn't ever thought of performing, but now I love it!

AXS: Do each of you approach the creative process of making a song differently?
McKenzie: My creative process is to basically just experiment until I figure out what sounds best to me! When I'm at the studio I just love to be myself and have good vibes with the people I work with. I always have tea and water before I go into the studio to record or before I perform. My favorite tea to have is throat coat tea - it really helps my throat and improves my vocals.
Lexi: Whenever I am learning a new song or in the recording studio, I like to draw out the runs in a song so I can vizualize them in my head.
Tati: I can usually write my own raps on the spot! I just need a topic and a beat and I'm good to go.
Jenna: I don't really have a creative process at this point. I would just say when the mood strikes me I practice for long stretches of time.

AXS: How do you describe this new single relative to the three past releases?
McKenzie: Our current single "Living For The Rhythm" is pretty similar to our other songs. It's very uplifting and you can definitely dance and groove out to it, just like our other songs. Also all of our songs have a great message in them.
Tati: It’s definitely more upbeat.
Jenna: I feel that "Living For The Rhythm" is a lot like [previous single] "Incredible." Our other two singles, "Beat" and "Girlz," were recorded a while ago so they have a very different sound.

AXS: What do you want the audience to take away from the new single?
Mariangli: We hope that "Living For The Rhythm" becomes a song that kids can dance to when they are having a bad day, are in need of a pick-me-up, or just want to jam out.
McKenzie: I definitely want our fans and audience to enjoy our song, but I also want them to know that you always should have fun in life and be with the ones who make you happy.
Tati: Dance whenever you get the chance!
Jenna: I hope that people enjoy the song but also get the message to never let anyone stop you from doing what you love or being yourself. You will go through ups and downs, but you've got to fight through them and find your own rhythm!

AXS: When you put together your next tour, what are the venues you'd love to play?
Mariangli: I hope that one day, L2M gets to join other amazing artists at award shows, on tours or at holiday events.
McKenzie: Ever since I was a little girl, I've always wanted to play in Madison Square Garden and sell out the arena! Some of my favorite artists have performed there before and it would just be an honor to be able to be on the same stage as legends and performers I look up to. Also, I really want to perform at the Super Bowl Halftme Show.
Lexi: American Airlines Center, since that is in my hometown Dallas, TX.
Tati: Madison Square Garden!
Jenna: I would love to perform at the Super Bowl, The GRAMMYs and The Oscars someday.
