After a blistering set at this year's Ultra Music Festival, Party Favor is bringing his one of a kind party to Day Club Palm Springs tomorrow, April 21. Tickets are still available, and if his set at Ultra is any indication, fans will not want to miss this opportunity to see the DJ up close and personal.
Day Club provides one of the best venues in the U.S. to see DJs perform to their hearts' content. Unlike music festivals like Ultra and Coachella, the stage is right in front of lucky fans and there is not a bad seat in the house. Gone are the festival grounds that put a hundred yards between you and your favorite DJ. Instead, all that will be separating you from Party Favor is really about 10 yards of real estate. What does this mean? You'll have the best seat in the house, or pool, no matter where you are at. It really doesn't get any better than this.
Ahead of his set for tomorrow, Party Favor took time out from his busy schedule to answer a few questions for us. One of the first things AXS was able to ask him was about his unique, driving sound and how he developed it. His answer was a bit of a surprise, but one that is welcome and sheds new insight on this rising star.
"Since I got my start in the business by sampling, I made most of my early sounds with my mouth." This must account for a lot of the cool and unique transitions he has in his music, how the beat drives and keeps pushing the rhythm forward to a pulse-bumping crescendo.
Apart from these unique and humble beginnings of making those early sounds with his mouth, Party Favor also credits various industry people with the help they have given him over the years. Citing Diplo as one major help and influence, he also credits Bro Safari as someone who has always been there for him.
"One of the biggest influences on my music early on and the person who has helped me the most in the industry is Diplo. Another person who has helped me out in the past, but I haven't spoken about, would be Bro Safari. He helped my career when he voted for me to win his remix competition for UFO about 5 years ago."
Everyone can thank Bro Safari for helping to bring this energetic and vibrant DJ to the scene. His sound is not one that is easily classified as a typical EDM DJ; rather, he has developed something that is unique all to himself and one that really ought to be experienced first-hand tomorrow at Day Club.
