Iration 'Press Play' tour kicks off this fall

No one would mistake Santa Barbara for the Caribbean, but listening to Iration will change that narrative.

Iration is a band that has perfected the art of reggae. Their island groove actually comes naturally, as all of the members hail from Hawaii. The band members all came together at UC Santa Barbara and using their island roots, the band traveled to college towns all over California, often playing to soldout shows.

In 2006, the band got recognition by the Santa Barbara Independent, which said that the band could “capture the undivided attention of a crowd full of drunken Isla Vistans, especially when there are kegs to be tapped and cops to avoid.

That is a pretty large statement, and one to be proud of.

The next year, the band released their debut LP, No Time for Rest, which went straight to the top of the Reggae Albums Chart. Powered by the stellar single “Cookie Jar,” which hit number one on 93.9 DaBeat in their native Hawaii, Iration became a sensation not just in the college towns in the Golden State, but all over America. To this day, their winning streak on the charts has chugged along, and the band will hit the road this fall on the Press Play Tour, which should be an instant hit.
