Popular Colombian reggaeton singer José Álvaro Osorio Balvin, known more prominently as J Balvin, has announced the upcoming May 25 release of what will be his fifth studio album, to be titled Vibras. The 32-year-old "Mi Gente" singer made the announcement earlier this week when he shared a brief video to his social media outlets, adding “NEW ALBUM VIBRAS MAY 25 !!”

Balvin also shared one of the new singles set to appear on Vibras on Friday, with “Ambiente.” The song and its equally new music video can be heard and watched in full above. The release of “Ambiente” on Friday follows the previously shared “Machika" and "Ahora," which will both appear on Vibras when the album arrives late next month. Balvin had also teamed up with Revol, Bad Bunny, Arcángel and De La Ghetto for a stand-alone single titled “Dime” that was shared last month, but the song isn’t planned on being included on the album.

The singer has made some big collaborative moves in the last few years to help lead a new wave of Latin artists into popular music culture here in North America. Balvin teamed up with Pharrell and Bia for a 2016 single titled "Safari", and continued to raise his stock in 2017 with the releases of “Hey Ma” featuring Pitbull and Camila Cabello, followed by "Mi Gente" alongside Willy William. By the time the Beyoncé released a remix of the latter track in September of last year, Balvin had reached crossover superstar status amongst fans in the U.S. It's no wonder Cardi B chose him to appear alongside Bad Bunny on "I Like It," one of the tracks featured on her own highly anticipated new album when it arrived last week.

Balvin is one of the big nominees at this year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards in Las Vegas later this month. Fans can purchase tickets to the April 26 event at the Mandalay Bay Events Center by clicking here.
