My Friend’s Place, a vital non-profit organization centered on helping the homeless youth in Los Angeles, is getting a little help from the “Tenacious” Jack Black. The comedian is stepping into the familiar role of host for My Friend’s Place 30th Anniversary Gala event happening on April 7 at the Hollywood Palladium.
Special honorees include Miley Cyrus’ Happy Hippie Foundation, My Friend’s Place board member and community advocate Cheryl Hayward, USC football’s Angela Helton, Instagram, as well as chef and food activist Alice Waters.
The Gala co-chairs will be on hand, as will Danish pop band Lukas Graham, Giacomo Gianniotti, “Dance Moms” star Maddie Ziegler, Johnathan Fernandez, Mark Jackson, Ron Finley (the Gangsta Gardener), hip hop artist Sirah and USC football coach Clay Helton. Additional guests are still to be announced.
The evening will encompass entertainment, dining, and silent/online auctions which will include items like a signed guitar by Ed Sheeran, a N.Y. Fashion Week travel package and an exclusive dinner for two with Alice Waters at her Chez Panisse restaurant in Berkeley, Calif.
