James Bay fans will be gutted to learn that the British pop-rocker has postponed his upcoming 2018 fall tour of North America. The “Hold Back the River” hitmaker has rescheduled the dates until next spring in continued support of his sophomore studio album Electric Light, which dropped May 18 via Virgin/Republic.

The multi-platinum seller expressed his regrets to fans via an update made July 9 on Facebook. While no clear reason for the postponement was provided, Bay wrote that he was “truly sorry” and thanked fans for their continued support.

Bay had already wrapped up a 2018 spring tour of North America on April 8 in Toronto and was scheduled to launch a fall leg on Sept. 13 in Atlanta at Coca-Cola Roxy Theatre. The tour has been bumped into 2019 and will now begin March 3 in Nashville at Ryman Auditorium and will wrap up April 3 in Seattle at The Paramount Theatre.

“I’m truly sorry to all my fans,” writes Bay in his statement. “Thank you all for your overwhelming support and I can’t wait to be back with you soon.”

Ticketholders are instructed to contact point of purchase for more information. Please note that some date revisions have required a change in venue. Select presales for remaining seats on rescheduled dates will begin Thursday, July 12 at 10:00 a.m. local time and will go on sale to the public starting Friday, July 13 at 10:00 a.m. local time. Fans in North America will still be able to catch him at his upcoming stops on Aug. 3 in Chicago at Lollapalooza and on Aug. 5 in Montreal at Osheaga Music and Arts Festival.
