JAY-Z gives stellar performances of 'Bam' and '4:44' on the season premiere of 'SNL'

JAY-Z and Ryan Gosling kicked off the 43rd season premiere of “Saturday Night Live" last night (Sept 30.), where the legendary rapper performed “Bam” with Damian Marley, as well as the title track to his critically acclaimed 4:44 album, released in June.

Plus, you can almost guarantee that Jay will perform those songs and others from the LP when he stops at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Oct. 28 for the 4:44 tour. You can get tickets to that event, which also includes the rapper Vic Mensa, here.

For the “Bam” performance on “SNL,” JAY-Z wore a black Colin Kaepernick jersey, black hat and some sparkly necklaces, while he strolled calmly back and forth on the TV stage.

Meanwhile, with his signature dreadlocks dangling to the floor, Marley danced and bopped next to the rapper, and the chemistry between them was evident.

Then on the song "4:44," where Jay talks about the ups and downs of marriage to wife Beyoncé, he strips everything down, coming to the stage by himself in a plain white t-shirt, no jewelry and no band. It was also easy to see the emotion coming from his facial expressions, which only added to the performance.

You can check out both performances above and below and again, be sure to purchase your tickets for JAY-Z’s 4:44 tour stop at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas here.
