Blues and rock guitar hero Joe Bonamassa will return to Red Rocks in the summer of 2019, this time for a two-night run at the famed venue. Bonamassa heads to Red Rocks on Sunday & Monday, Aug. 11 & 12. See below for ticketing info on AXS.
Bonamassa is no stranger to Red Rocks. The guitarist has played the iconic Colorado venue a number of times and in 2015 released a live album chronicling his show there honoring blues legends Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf. Check out Bonamassa doing “You Shook Me” at Red Rocks above.
A guitar prodigy, Joe Bonamassa opened for blues legend B.B. King when he was just 12 years old. The guitarist would go on to release over a dozen solo albums and 15 live albums. Bonamassa has worked with a number of rock and blues luminaries including Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Steve Winwood, Warren Hayes, Derek Trucks and more.
In 2013, Bonamassa received his first Grammy nomination for Best Blues album on his 2013 collaborative record with blues singer Beth Hart titled Seesaw. Bonamassa garnered another Grammy nod in 2016 for Best Traditional Blues album on Live at The Greek Theatre.
Most recently, Bonamassa released Redemption in September of 2018, which followed another collaboration with Hart titled Black Coffee as well as a live album called British Blues Explosion Live.
