With a new host and an especially tight race, the 59th annual Grammy Awards are gearing to be a night of excitement and surprises. The show has just announced its first batch of performers: John Legend, Metallica and Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban, who will perform together.
The multi-genre artists already have 29 Grammys between them, and are up for a few more. Metallica is nominated for best rock song ("Hardwired to Self Destruct"), Underwood for best country solo performance ("Church Bells"), and Urban for best country album (Ripcord) and best country solo performance ("Blue Ain't Your Color"). Underwood and Urban will most likely perform their duet "Fighter."
Additional performers will be announced soon.The 2017 Grammys take place on Feb. 12 at Staples Center in Los Angeles and broadcast live on CBS.
