Arthur Buck—the duo consisting of indie rock veteran Joseph Arthur and former R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck—has announced dates for its 2018 U.S. tour, which launches on Sept. 7 in Seattle. Tickets go on sale May 18 at various times, depending on the venue.

Arthur Buck's self-titled debut album will be released June 15 on New West Records. The album was produced by Arthur and mixed by Tchad Blake. Arthur Buck's touring band will include bassist Scott McCaughey, drummer Linda Pitmon and keyboardist Gregg Foreman.

"Are You Electrified?," the first single from Arthur Buck, has received positive reactions so far from mainstream music media. Rolling Stone commented on the track: "Between clean guitar licks, Arthur's gritty vocals impart a message of hope." Spin called the song a "feel-good, blues-pop number." The video for "Are You Electrified?" was filmed in Oregon and directed by Dean Karr, who has helmed several videos for Cypress Hill, Velvet Revolver and Dave Matthews Band. New West Records released a preview of album track "Forever Waiting" on May 15.

R.E.M. disbanded in 2011, after 31 years together, and since then, Buck has been involved in various music projects, including solo albums and being a member of the band Filthy Friends. But don't call Arthur Buck a "side project." Buck explained to NPR: ""I don't really believe in side projects. Anything I do is something I am completely focused on in the moment. I really believe in the process of collaboration."
