It's rare that I even bother covering a popular country act these days. So many of them are almost identical, and rarely very country at all. Kacey Musgraves, on the other hand, sticks out like a rusty old nail your shirt can't help but get caught on time and time again. When she took the stage Friday night, the crowd went nuts, and rightfully so; they were anticipating the kind of show she was ready to give. She breezed through the night, taking her time and enjoying every second as she chatted between songs and brought the audience everything they could've possibly asked for.
She looked beautiful, sounded fantastic and had a stage presence as comfortable as it was cute. She's bound to blow up, and deservedly so, as she's one of the last beacons of hope in the watered-down world of popular country music.
John & Jacob opened the show, with a rockin' set full of energy, a refreshing sound (they sound so much better live than on their album) and some killer bow ties.
