Country singer Kacey Musgraves finds her way onto the soundtrack for the upcoming Ben Affleck-starring film, Live by Night, which hits theaters nationwide this Friday (Jan. 13). The film's accompanying compilation, out now, features Musgraves lending her harmonies on Foy Vance's "Moonshine," a down-and-dirty foot-stomp about a bootlegger running moonshine. "When I first heard the song 'Moonshine,' I got a really fun, Southern vibe from it," Musgraves says of the collaboration. "I thought that it would be kind of a fun challenge for me to figure out how to mix in my own flavor and my own bits of harmony to the song."

She adds, “I am one that loves a cinematic experience, so I’m very excited to go to the theater on the day that it comes out and sit with my friends and hear this song that I’m a part of.”

Vance explains of how the team-up came together, saying, “Kacey got involved when we wanted to have a female vocal on there because there are a couple of really strong sort of female characters in the film,” explained Vance.

Live by Night, which also stars Elle Fanning, Brendan Gleeson, Chris Cooper, Zoe Saldana and Sienna Miller, is set in the 1920s Prohibition era. Affleck portrays the rough 'n tumble bootlegger and gangster Joe Coughlin, who is also the son of the Boston Police Department superintendent.
