“Mind your own biscuits and life will be gravy” it seems is may be the perfect lyric to live by for Texas native and Nashville based singer/songwriter Kacey Musgraves. She wowed the audience filled with Radio execs and programmers with her new single “Biscuits” to a packed house with her usual catchy one liners and often silly remarks. Her performance at The Country Radio Seminar (CRS) Universal Music Group (UMG) Showcase and luncheon at The Ryman Auditorium on Feb 26th was a perfect example of why she was there and belongs on that stage! She walked on barefoot with confidence wearing a blue gingham dress with beehive hair looking like she came out of a modern day taping of Hee-Haw! Don’t get me wrong , I grew up on Hee-Haw and loved it. Maybe shes on to something! But until this performance I hadn’t made the connection, yet there it was clear as day to me.
"I'm very proud to be kickin' things off with Biscuits! I think it's the perfect preview to the record we had SO much fun making,” says Musgraves. “The sound of this song represents so many of the things I love about country music. And be warned - it may inspire a square dance."
“Biscuits” is slated to be radio released March 16th and download available on the 17th. “Biscuits” written by Musgraves, Shane McAnally and Brandy Clark is the first single for her sophomore album from Mercury Records Nashville. The three wrote “Follow your Arrow” which won 2014 CMA award for Song of the Year. With an industry filled with males this is sure to make her stand out from the crowd. Musgraves will resume her current tour Same Trailer Different Tour ending this summer.
