Kelly Clarkson sings Star-Spangled Banner at NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

Thursday was Kelly Clarkson's turn to sing the Star-Spangled Banner at the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Clarkson, a native of Fort Worth, Texas who reached fame for being the first ever winner of American Idol in 2002, sang the lyrics of the American national anthem prior to game four of the Western Conference Final between the Nashville Predators and Anaheim Ducks at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

Clarkson has a history of performing the Star-Spangled Banner at major sporting events. She has also sung the American national anthem at the 2012 Super Bowl at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana (a game won by the New York Giants over the New England Patriots by a score of 21-17), the 2006 Thanksgiving Day game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and prior to game three of the 2010 World Series between the San Francisco Giants and Texas Rangers. Clarkson has also co-written a song with Ryan Williams, Josh Abraham and Oligee called "Get Up" which is now considered the anthem for the Cowboys.

Clarkson is just the latest music performer to sing the Star-Spangled Banner for the Predators in the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Others are Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Little Big Town and Vince Gill.
