Three-time Grammy winning singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson is enjoying her time off from the spotlight after she welcomed baby girl River Rose into the world in June. That hasn't kept her out of the studio though. During her time off being pregnant and after birth, she's been hitting the studio to record with "In the Basement" with Martina McBride, she was a background vocalist on mother-in-law Reba McEntire's "Pray for Peace" and is featured on Trisha Yearwood's new single "PrizeFighter." Clarkson has used her Twitter account to drop hints about new music.

A fan asked Kelly if she would have any surprises on her next album. Like the down to earth person she is, she replied, "Yes. I'm so proud of my next album! Might have a special guest on the album ....maybe :) Doesn't come out until early next year."

New material is nothing fans don't already know about. Clarkson has mentioned in the past she is constantly writing and finding songs and last year mentioned that she may end up releasing two albums because there's so many good songs. She brought up releasing not only a pop record but a full on country record as well. Even if country fans haven't quite accepted she isn't going anywhere, it would seem most appropriate in her later career after marrying into music royalty. Kelly has since sold her house in Texas and moved to Nashville where she and husband Brandon Blackstock reside.

Shortly after, she tweeted lyrics to a song that will be included on her upcoming album. She tweets, "The high road can be a lonely place but I'd rather talk to my shadow than a mirage." Leaving it open for debate, especially after false cheating rumours, she cleared the air and said it was about taking the high road and that it was lyrics from a new song.

Followers of Kelly Clarkson know that getting to where she is hasn't been easy. Publicly spatting with Clive Davis several times and fighting to gain more and more input, her 2012 single "Catch My Breath" from Greatest Hits: Chapter One summed up the first ten years of her career.

It's been three years since Kelly released her Grammy winning album Stronger which boasted her third Hot 100 No. 1 hit of the same title. Since then she's released a greatest hits with three new songs all of which became singles and last year released her long awaited holiday record Wrapped in Red produced solely by Greg Kurstin.
