Kendrick Lamar leads 2018 Billboard Music Awards Non-Televised winners roster

Billboard has announced the non-televised winners of the 2018 Billboard Music Awards which are being held today (May 20) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Kendrick Lamar, who tied Ed Sheeran for the most nominations (at 15 each), is leading the star-studded roster with six wins going into tonight’s NBC broadcast. Lamar won Top Rap Album (Damn), Top Rap Artist, Top Rap Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album (Damn), Top Streaming Songs Artist, and Top Streaming Song (Audio) for “HUMBLE.”

Bruno Mars is next in line with five wins for Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Male Artist, Top R&B Album for 24K Magic, Top R&B Song “That’s What I Like” and Top R&B Tour. Imagine Dragons slayed four categories by winning Top Duo/Group, Top Rock Artist, Top Rock Album (Evolve) and Top Rock Song for “Believer.” Ed Sheeran tied Imagine Dragons four wins of his own heading into tonight’s live broadcast. Three of them are “Artist” categories for Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist and one “Songs” category win for Top Radio Song for “Shape of You.”

Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber scored three wins for Top Latin Song, Top Streaming Song (Video) and Top Selling Song, all for their smash hit collaboration “Despacito.” Chris Stapleton swept three country categories, winning Top Country Artist, Top Male Country Artist and Top Country Album (From A Room: Volume 1). The Chainsmokers snagged two wins for Top Dance/Electronic Album (Memories … Do Not Open) and Top Dance/Electronic Song for their collaboration with Coldplay on “Something Just Like This.” Irish rock legends U2 won two BBMAs for Top Touring Artist and Top Rock Tour. Ozuna won Top Latin Artist and Top Latin Album for Odisea. 

The 2018 BBMAs ceremony will be broadcast live on both coasts at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC. Grammy-winning pop superstar Kelly Clarkson will host the main event and some of the biggest superstars are slated to deliver explosive performances including Ariana Grande, who will open the show, Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato who will make the TV debut performance of their duet “Fall in Line,” Janet Jackson who will receive this year’s ICON Award, Ed Sheeran who will perform on location in Dublin, Ireland, Jennifer Lopez, Shawn Mendes, BTS, and many more.

Fans will also vote in the 2018 BBMAs Top Social Artist Award. Grande, Mendes, BTS, Lovato and Bieber will compete in the category. 2018 Billboard Music Awards presenters include Nick Jonas, Julia Michaels, Darren Criss, Grace VanderWaal and more.
