R&B singer Khalid is the first performer announced for the 2018 Teen Choice Awards, which will be presented Aug. 12 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. According to the announcement, Khalid will perform a medley of his songs at the show. He is nominated for three Teen Choice Awards this year: Choice R&B/Hip-Hop Song, Choice Breakout Artist and Choice R&B/Hip-Hop Artist. Fox will have the U.S. telecast of the Teen Choice Awards at 8 p.m. ET/PT. As previously reported, Nick Cannon is hosting the show. Presenters announced so far are Noah Cyrus, Chloe Grace Moretz, Lucy Hale, Hudson Yang, Maddie Ziegler, Nina Dobrev, Red Gerard, Chloe Kim, Auli’i Cravalho and Jojo Siwa.
In other news about Khalid, he and Cyrus have signed a deal with fashion retailer Hollister Co. to be part of the brand’s #CarpeNow campaign for the remainder of this year. The hit songs "Silence" by Marshmello featuring Khalid and "Team" by Cyrus are included in the campaign. The campaign also features Khalid and Cyrus participating in Hollister's anti-bullying initiatives that include the Sit With Us app that was created by Natalie Hampton.
Khalid commented in a statement: “I am proud to collaborate with a brand that celebrates inclusivity. I’m only two years out of high school and I still clearly remember the bullying that can happen in that environment. I am proud to join the movement with Hollister and Sit With Us."
Cyrus added, “To be a part of this Hollister campaign alongside my friend Khalid is an absolute dream. I’m also proud to bring further awareness to Natalie’s Sit With Us app to make school a better place for all."
