King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard announce 2018 North American tour dates

Lock your doors, hide your kids and turn up the volume, because King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard are coming back to North America this summer for a 20-date tour starting on May 31 in Los Angeles. The news of the tour comes following a very busy year for the Australian rock band, who spent much of 2017 touring across the globe with a mix of festival appearances in addition to plenty of their own headlining shows. It’s also worth noting that the band released not one, but five full length albums in the 12-month span, leaving every other artist who takes years between albums in a daze of confusion and reflection on their own time management.

The tour will see the King Gizzard playing to mostly major U.S. and Canadian cities, before wrapping with a final show at Stubb’s in Austin on June 22. Notable stops on the upcoming run include scheduled shows at San Francisco’s The Warfield on June 2, Boston’s Royale on June 14, and a pair of gigs at Brooklyn Steel in New York City on June 14 and 15. Fans can click here to read up on the band’s last visit to New York City, which took place at the now closed Webster Hall.

“I suppose with releasing a fair amount of other music this year, it felt like we owed people a present for being so generous and coming to shows,” the band’s guitarist/singer Stu Mackenzie said in an interview this past fall. “But it also felt like a fascinating experiment for us to do, on a purely selfish level, just to see what would happen.”

Tickets for select shows on the band’s upcoming North American tour will be going on sale starting this Friday, Jan. 12, and can be purchased by clicking here.
