The reviews on King Princess tells the tale of an artist that is the textbook example of the phrase “up-and-comer.”
One reviewer said that she found King Princess’ songs on YouTube while on a random search, and was instantly enchanted. Another went even further, calling her music a “new addiction.” All of these reviews are facts, as listening to King Princess is quite an addicting adventure.
Born and raised in music-rich Brooklyn, King Princess (b. Mikaela Straus), has music coursing through her veins. Her family was rooted in music, and at an early age, she joined the family tradition by picking up a guitar, playing the piano, and writing her own songs. She was such a prodigy that, by age 11, record companies were offering her deals.
She would turn them down to focus on school, but the recording bug would eventually bite her. Her first single was “1950,” a single that is a simple, yet beautiful slow burner. From there, King Princess’ star power has only risen, and to keep the flame going, she’ll embark on a summer tour, with several shows already sold out.
