You can say what you want about L.A., but it is a city that has produced a lot of bands. Dynamos is one of the up-and-coming bands to watch, and the new single "Knowledge" is proof of that.

The song begins with a catchy bass line and a beat that will get your toes tapping. Nadia E. sings in a soulful voice about how a certain someone knows details about her - including her dress size and her favorite candy. She counters that by saying, "there's a lot you don't know about me." On the one hand, it seems like a bit of a dichotomy. On the other hand, Nadia E. does a great job capturing the dynamic of a lot of couples: namely that two people are together without really knowing much about each other.

This is an interesting tune that brings The Bellrays to mind. It is without question a rock song, but the vocals, rhythm section and organ inject a pretty good amount of soul into the song. One can tell just from the audio that Dynamos is a dynamic band that is probably worth seeing live. This song and video give a good taste of the band's sound and energy. It also does what a single is meant to do; it leaves listeners wanting more. "Knowledge" is available on Feb. 23.
