LA Galaxy star forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been named as a finalist for three MLS End-of-Year Awards — the Landon Donovan Most Valuable Player of the Year, MLS Newcomer of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year.
After establishing himself as one of the world's best soccer players in Europe, Zlatan signed with the Galaxy in March to help the squad bounce back from a disappointing 2017 season and an already rocky start to 2018. Zlatan was also looking to make a comeback of his own as he played a limited role at Manchester United mainly due to his severe injury to a ligament in his right knee.
In the 2018 campaign, Zlatan garnered 22 goals and 10 assists in 27 matches for the Galaxy. He scored seven game-winning goals, the league’s second best tally, and set an MLS record for averaging 1.40 goals and assists per full match. He revitalized his career in Los Angeles and made a what looked like another wasted season for the Galaxy to one with legitimate playoff hopes.
