LA Kings have firefighter appreciation night Jan. 6 vs. Predators

The Los Angeles Kings will have firefighter appreciation night on Sat., Jan. 6 against the Nashville Predators at the Staples Center. The start time is 7:30 p.m.

Prior to and during the game, the Kings will honor Los Angeles firefighters and their service to the Los Angeles community. Proceeds from the Kings Care Foundation's 50/50 raffle and silent auction will also benefit the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and local fire victims. 

The Los Angeles Fire Department was founded in 1886. Its mission is to protect Los Angeles lives and property. 

The Kings meanwhile will have their hands full with the Nashville Predators, the reigning Western Conference champions. Nashville gets excellent offensive production from their defense. P.K. Subban, Roman Josi and Mattias Ekholm all have reached 20 points so far this season, with Subban second on the team in points with 27. Filip Forsberg leads the Predators at the moment in goals (15) and points (34). 

Nashville and Los Angeles are both in second place in their respective divisions in the Western Conference with 49 points. Nashville is 22-10-5 and Los Angeles is 22-11-5. The Predators are one point back of the Winnipeg Jets in the Central Division and the Kings are three points back of the Vegas Golden Knights in the Pacific Division.
