The Los Angeles Kings are promoting public skating at Staples Center on May 19. From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., the public can skate on the Kings home ice for $20. Skates are included with the admission or fans have the opportunity to bring their own skates. In addition to the public skating, there will also be street hockey.

Los Angeles Kings season ticket members can skate for free at the special event. Fans must show their season ticket member card upon entrance.

The public skate is part of the L.A. Live Block Party, which also starts at 6 pm on May 19 and will go until late night. Throughout the evening there will be a pop-up marketplace, $5 food and drink menus, live music, live art and street performers. The marketplace will have over 40 local vendors.

The music group that will be performing is Weekend Celebrity. In addition to the drums, Murzynowski does vocals and percussion. Irvine meanwhile does vocals as well as performing on the violin.

The deejay for the evening will be Canyon Cody and there will also be music from Gilbert Montoya. Other performers include All Night Diner, Dangerous D, Derek Derek, Flow Circus, Hollywood Hotshots, Pablo Paniagua, Robert Yancy, Seth Allison, Tamboura Plays, Violin and the Unity Dance Crew.
