The Los Angeles Kings will have a special night with a Halloween theme when they host the Buffalo Sabres (tickets) at Staples Center on Saturday, Oct. 14. They will have a special Kyle Clifford zombie bobblehead giveaway. The bobblehead has Clifford without his two front teeth, blood on his face, a black bandage on his forehead and black lines down both cheeks.
So far this season, Clifford has one assist in three games, is a +2 with two penalty minutes. He has four shots on goal, three hits, one blocked shot and one takeaway. It will be interesting to see if Clifford suits up for the Kings on Saturday because he had to leave the game against the Calgary Flames due to a shoulder injury.
Clifford is in his eighth season with the Kings since being drafted in the second round by Los Angeles in the 2009 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Known as one of the more intimidating players on the ice, he has 632 penalty minutes in 488 regular season games.
The Kings will look to bounce back against the Sabres after losing to the Flames 4-3 in overtime on Wednesday. It was a memorable night for the Flames because it was Jaromir Jagr's first game in a Flames uniform. The future hockey hall of famer and Olympic gold medalist is second all-time in regular season points with 1914, the all-time leader in game winning goals (133), third all-time in goals (765) and fifth all-time in assists (1149). The Kings and Flames played a very entertaining hockey game with a lot of momentum shifts. Sean Monahan scored the game winning goal at 1:02 of overtime from Johnny Gaudreau and T.J. Brodie.
The Sabres meanwhile have got off to a rough start this season. They have lost their first three games and will play the San Jose Sharks on Thursday before playing the Kings. Los Angeles is currently 2-1. For ticket information to Kings games, please click here.
