For many, Labor Day marks the end of the summer season in Dallas and Ft. Worth.

Just because Summer has come to a close, however, doesn’t mean that the fun has to end. In fact, Labor Day will present its own plate of fun events all over the Metroplex, and if you’re looking for a great event to celebrate the end of the Summer, check out these five events for a weekend full of fun.

Laughs by the Lake

Who doesn’t like a free laugh every once in awhile? The Dallas suburb of Irving will provide those free laughs on Labor Day with Laughs by the Lake, which will feature some of the Dallas-Ft. Fireworks and Labor Day are two things that go together, and in Grapevine, these two will go together like peanut butter and jelly. Friday Night Fireworks, a summer event, will conclude it’s 2017 run at the start of the Labor Day Weekend, and the fireworks will light up Lake Grapevine in a tremendous display of colors that will help close out the summer in the Metroplex.

In Texas, football is life, and there can’t be a Labor Day Weekend in the Metroplex without attending a football game. The TCU Horned Frogs, one of the NCAA’s best teams, will take the field on Sept. 2 against Jackson State, and even if you’re not a Horned Frogs fan, this is a game that you should take in so that you’ll get in the spirit of football season.
