Fans won’t be finding Ed Sheeran on Twitter anytime soon. The pop guitarist and singer announced recently that he would be leaving the popular social media outlet due to all the negativity often shared by haters towards artists. Thankfully, Ed’s got a few famous friends who are able to share their support, including Lady Gaga.

The Fame Monster took to Instagram on Tuesday to give some love to her musical comrade as well as to encourage fans to take it a little easier on each other when it comes to social media bullying.

“What an incredible talented artist I LOVE ED [he] deserves all our love and respect like all humans do,” Gaga said in an Instagram post featuring her and Sheeran. “I wish all people on the internet would be positive and loving and apart of creating an online community that is kind and empowering, not hateful and mean. No reason to tear down an artist simply because they are on top. Work harder to be kinder everybody. That should be your first duty to humanity.”

One of the key missions of Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation is encouraging positivity and kindness, which includes online bullying via social media.

Sheeran is currently wooing hearts across the country on his huge North American summer tour, which started on June 29 and will run until Oct. 6. Tickets for select dates on the huge arena run can be purchased by clicking here.
