LCD Soundsystem announce world tour in support of upcoming album ‘American Dream’
Columbia/DFA

LCD Soundsystem are currently in the middle of their second hometown residency at the popular new Brooklyn Steel venue in New York City. Perhaps that’s why they picked Monday morning to officially announce their upcoming album American Dream, set for release on Sept. 1 via Columbia/DFA.

James Murphy and company also revealed their 2017 touring plans, which start on July 12 in Ottawa, Ontario and wrap up with another 10-show residency at Brooklyn Steel in late December. Other notable stops on their upcoming run include headlining performances at Chicago’s Pitchfork Music Festival and Japan’s huge Fuji Rock Festival. The newly-announced shows will be the band’s first headlining tour dates since reforming in 2016, as their performances up until now have been mostly festival or television appearances, aside from their Brooklyn Steel shows.

Murphy gave fans an update on the upcoming album via their Facebook back on May 30. The band’s principal member then stated, “This is just a note to say that we're done with the record. like, totally done with the music and mixing. just some art stuff to finish, but it's been mastered already and the lacquers are winging their way to the pressing plant."

Tickets for select shows on the band’s upcoming run will go on sale starting this Friday, June 23, and can be purchased by clicking here.
