The undefeated 24-year-old, based out of California's MMA Gold fight team, makes his promotional debut on Jan. 26 at "LFA 32." He's set to battle surging submission ace Brendan "All In" Allen (8-2) in middleweight action.
The bout, which emanates from the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Lake Charles, La., will serve as the show's headliner. Make no mistake: This is a collision between two of the top young prospects in the sport.
Hernandez won each of his last four starts via first-round submission, tapping out the likes of Mike Persons and Kenny Ento in fights contested under the GKO banner. Since turning pro in 2014, "Fluffy" has finished all five of his opponents in the first round of action.
This is a guy who gets better each time out. He trains with a who's who of elite talent at MMA Gold, a fast-growing facility that has recently churned out high-level competitors to promotions such as the UFC and Invicta FC. "Fluffy" will be looking to join his teammate Aspen "The Shield Maiden" Ladd in the UFC some time in the near future.
Allen will be a serious step up in competition for him, as the Louisiana native has already appeared in five LFA bouts. Fighting out of Clementi's Gladiator Academy, "All In" looks to build momentum off his impressive win over Chris Allen at "LFA 18." Will it help that he'll be fighting not far from his hometown?
It's nice to have the crowd behind you, but no one can help the fighters once the cage door locks. In the "LFA 32" co-main, Ryan Spann (12-5) battles Alex Nicholson (9-4). "LFA 32" airs live and free on AXS TV.
