LiAngelo Ball received his chance to woo the Los Angeles Lakers in a recent workout, and he has apparently made the most of his opportunity.
According to LiAngelo, the younger brother of Lonzo, he competed in several different drills with five others players as Magic Johnson and Luke Walton observed. In addition, Lonzo took in the workout, as well.
"I feel like it went good," LiAngelo told reporters after his workout. "It's always fun being in here doing things I want to get better at. It was a good workout."
The younger Ball has at least piqued several teams’ interest. Not only has he worked out with the Lakers, Ball will also train for the Golden State Warriors prior to the draft. The 2018 NBA Draft will take place June 21 in Brooklyn, NY.
Ball’s father, LaVar, has been outspoken about his desire for all three of his sons to play for the Lakers. The Lakers hold the No. 25 overall pick, but there have been no indications where Ball might go in the draft, if he’s even selected. After leaving UCLA, the scoring wing played for Lithuanian team Vytautas.
Ball could also schedule workouts with other teams. He believes, though, that his time spent playing professionally was beneficial.
"I think it prepared me a little better as far as going against grown men that care about their job every day," Ball said. “Every game is hard out there."
The Lakers selected Lonzo with the No. 2 pick in the 2017 Draft. When healthy, he proved to be a valuable part of the Lakers’ success.
