Life Of Agony to perform at Starland Ballroom

Legendary metal act Life of Agony will perform at Starland Ballroom on Saturday, May 20 at 7 p.m. with special guests Sworn Enemy, Anaka, and Sekond Skyn.

Life of Agony are out on the road promoting A Place Where There’s No More Pain, their first studio long-player in twelve years. The album, released through Napalm Records back on April 28, was produced by Matt Brown (A Pale Horse Named Death, Seventh Void) and mastered by Ted Jensen (Deftones, Alice in Chains). It features lead single and title track “A Place Where There’s No More Pain.”

Soul Searching Sun, Life of Agony’s third LP, will celebrate its 20th anniversary later this year. Released on Roadrunner Records in September 1997, the album birthed three singles: “Desire,” “Weeds,” and “Tangerine.”

Metal act Sworn Enemy will serve as direct support. The group released their latest crossover thrash full-length, Living on Borrowed Time, through Rock Ridge Records in May 2014. The album, which reached No. 8 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart, includes stand out tracks like “Do or Die,” “Hard Way,” “No Apologies,” and “One Eye Open.”

Brooklyn, New York’s Anaka, a heavy metal quintet released their latest album, The Unwavering, through Godsend Records in February 2015. Anaka has previously opened for such acts as Avenge Sevenfold, Asking Alexandria, Five Finger Death Punch, and Otep.

Opening the show will be Sekond Skyn, a local hard rock and metal five-piece. Sekond Skyn, who are expected to release their sixth LP this year, have previously opened for the likes of Korn, Living Colour, Deftones, Sevendust, Evanescence, Anthrax, Chevelle, Godsmack and more.
